You Are Loved

"I didn't always believe that. I felt misunderstood, alone, like I would never quite fit in — until Jesus showed me the truth about who I am."

There was a season in my life when I made choices I still regret. I had found a place to belong — the partying crowd — but it led me somewhere very dark. And in that darkness, I was sure of one thing: God could never love or forgive someone like me.

Maybe you know that feeling. Maybe you're carrying something you can barely even speak out loud yet.

What I didn't know then — what took time, Scripture, and being surrounded by people who accepted me just as I was — was that God wasn't waiting for me to get cleaned up first. He loved me exactly as I was. Jesus took the punishment for all my sins. Every single one.

"This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins." 1 John 4:10

That truth became the foundation of my healing. Understanding God's love was vital to my mental health — and ultimately to walking in real freedom. The depression began to lift. Hope came back. And I started to believe I had a future again.

One of the places I process all of this is in my Faith Art Journal. I put on worship music, open to a verse I'm sitting with, and I just paint, pray, and play — with zero pressure to make something beautiful. It's not for a gallery. It's just for me and the Lord.

In a recent video, I'm working on a journal page around this very truth — You Are Loved — while sharing honestly about my own story and what it took to finally receive that love. (This is a shorter, sped up version of art making and talking.)

Because creating with your hands — especially with the Holy Spirit — has a way of quieting the noise and deepening your connection with God's truth.

Let me ask you something: Do you really know how much God loves and adores you? If you're not sure — ask Him to show you today. He is faithful, patient, and kind. He's just waiting for you to talk to Him.
